Taylor
171A Electronic VOM + R/F TesterTaylor 45C Valve Tester! Taylor 191A Wide Range A/F oscillator Taylor 68A/M Signal Generator Taylor 94B TV Waveform & alignment tester inc AM/FM sound |
Taylor 5pc Tech Suite, Wkg, incl 45C Valve Tester Once in a lifetime opportunity to equip yourself with a reliable English
made valve test gear lineup, Taylor, now sought after for reliability.
Case in point ALL these instruments still work with acceptable
tolerances. This would have been a one stop, top tier
serviceman's lineup
in UK, let alone here. The 45C is the gem here of course but would like to see them kept together as I've had them a long time. My trusty 45C comes with manual and tube supplement, and like its siblings continue to work flawlessly and look cooler than shit doing it!. Have 45C(orig), 171A pdf) manuals, rest should be avail on the net, but hardly necessary. Google models for more info. All items are working but could do with a lube, deoxit, calib etc. and supply cabling checked. |

The 'Electronamic' Precision 920 was a USA made (230v export) rugged
portable electronic valve (tube), and 'set' tester. I've dug it out and
made a few checks like heater voltages etc then tested a 6V6 and all
appears to be operating normally including the power indicator and neon
short bulb. It has 8 diff sockets that will test 4,5,6,7,8 pin valves, plus theres an adaptor for the later 9 pin. Of little use today it also sports has a volt/ohm meter. The oak cabinet has some old borer holes and could do with a refinish otherwise in good health cosmetically and electrically but the mains cable should be replaced. This is an emissions tester rather than a true mutual conductance instrument but can still be used for matching by using the VOM calibrations on the meter. Complete with a few homebrew adaptors, and several oem data books and an 80 odd page compilation of net sourced valve data supplements. Yep, the original tube data roller is still working just fine - This beauty has been well cared for during most of its life. |

Taylor 47A Valve Tester Heres a beaut, its even got backlighting on the meter!. It works, just
tested a 6L6 out and reads as it should, HOWEVER the filament select
switch is dodgy and will need some work or a replacement, it is possible
to put incorrect heater voltages on the test
subject so be careful!. I've checked the transformer, all windings
correct voltage, its the worn wafer switch and its connections at fault.
You could replace it with a three way switch with just the 5, 6.3 and
12.6v lines tied to it.The Taylor range (english) is well sought after and this one is compatible with all the 45 series data. It does not have B9A socket but an adaptor could be easily made or one of the extra octal sockets replaced. This is a true mutual conductance (gm) direct reading meter and relies on the balanced bridge principle. Easy to operate, select parameters from supplied manual, select ma/v mode, then use 'A' knob to set to 'X' mark then 'B' knob to set to the zero line. Just push meter button to read gm, easy. Sold as-is because of filament switch. Also VOM capabilities but I haven't checked those. Experts only please. 400mmx300mmx110mm |

Singer CSM-1 What am I?, born mid seventies I'm a 50k to 512Mhz
signal generator, frequency counter (beat), modulation meter,
audio scope, sweep generator and spectrum monitor (receiver) and a
tone generator and a.f oscilloscope and too much to mention here
so go
View contents of the manual and it should give you the answers
and specs you need. I bought it fault a couple of years ago and repaired
the signal generator to work HF again, its good and rock stable.
Everything else seems to works as per the manual except the receiver is
pretty sensitive and likely a fault in the broadband amp but I never
addressed it again as I didn't need that facility then. Ideal for 2m work
as well as h.f. supplied with original users handbook, huge service
manual and 3 npn and 3 pnp spare VHF trannies for spares.

not much known about this piece other than its quality valve gear, there's r.f in, osc, in, there's a 1 MHz i.f out and demodulated a.f out, bout all I know other than it's a fine instrument but I never needed to use it so out it goes. Excellent physical condition with manual, not tested but seems to function fine. |
